Minco: All-Polyimide thermofoil heaters
|
All-Polyimide heaters from Minco combine Kapton® insulation with polyimide
adhesive to achieve a temperature rating of 260°C (500°F) - 60°C higher than
previously possible with Kapton heaters and 25°C higher than silicone rubber
heaters. The new construction, called "AP", allows 100% more power - 100 watts
per square inch (15.5 watts per square centimeter) - for faster warm-up and
rapid response to changing heat loads. The result is higher throughput in many
thermal processes. AP heaters are suitable for
vacuum use with outgassing less than 0.01% collected
volatile condensable material. They stand up to most
processing and cleaning chemicals, making them an
excellent choice for ultra-pure processes.
Applications include semiconductor processing and
test, avionics, packaging equipment, and graphics
processors. Heaters may be clamped to heat
sinks or factory bonded with polyimide adhesives for
complete thermal subassemblies.
Options include integral temperature sensors and
flex circuit interconnects. Heat patterns can be
uniform or custom profiled for the specific
application. Profiling adds extra heat at loss
points to improve the uniformity of the temperature
across the heater.

measurement specialties: msp5100 series
low cost pressure transducer

The MSP5100 Series from Measurement Specialties Inc.
sets a new price/performance standard for pressure
transducers in demanding OEM applications. The
MSP5100 exceeds the latest heavy industrial CE
requirements including surge protection and is over
voltage protected to 16VDC in both positive and
reverse polarity. The pressure port is
machined from a solid piece of 17-4PH stainless
steel (361L is optional). There are no
o-rings, organics, or welds exposed to the pressure
media. This allows for a leak proof, all-metal
sealed pressure system which withstands more than 10
million pressure cycles without failure.
Various pressure ranges from 50PSI
through 10,000PSI are available. Signal output
options include 1 to 5V, 0.5 to 4.5V (ratiometric),
and 4-20mA. Packard, Bendix, mini-Din, and
cable connectors are offered. Several standard
pressure ports are available, and custom
configurations can be designed. The MSP5100
feature an accuracy of 1% Total Error Band with an
extended operating temperature range of -40C to
+125C.
Typical applications include
refrigeration systems, compressors, pumps, test
stands, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems,
agriculture equipment, water management, and process
control.

Selco: new family of oem
time/temperature controls
|
In response to the demand for low-cost electronic
temperature control, Selco/ECC has introduced a new
family of electronic temperature controllers. For
applications where high precision temperature
control is required and where time and/or
temperature reading must be displayed, electronic
controls offer an advanced solution over traditional
bulb and capillary temperature thermostats. Until
now, electronic controls have cost more than their
electromechanical counterparts. With Selco/ECC's new
family, however, this cost-difference is minimized
for many OEM applications.
The new family includes four
different electronic control models - the 2696 and
2697 Hot and Cold Temperature Controllers and the
high-end 2698 and 2699 Temperature Controllers. These controllers are designed for a wide variety of
refrigeration and heater control applications
including commercial and consumer appliances,
cooking equipment, grocery store refrigeration
storage, chillers, and HVAC. All electronic
controllers in the new family incorporate
microprocessor-based technology, assuring users of
excellent performance accuracy, repeatability and
stability. Control function performance
characteristics include a differential of 2ºF,
single or dual channel temperature sensing, high
accuracy thermistor temperature sensing of ±2ºF, and
a setpoint adjustment of 1ºF resolution, which can
be set by either a potentiometer or optional digital
user panel.
Other features include a wide operating temperature
control range, time control, user selection of
temperature in ºF or ºC, small package size for easy
OEM incorporation, and conformal coating for moist
environments. Depending on model, controllers come
equipped with bi-color LED indicators, one to three
output devices (up to 30A). Optional features on
some models include defrost cycle and remote display
or remote control panel. All models are UL
listed.
For complete flexibility, power requirements are
nominal 115VAC/60Hz with options for Selco/ECC's
wide input range SST power input from 75 to 305VAC. Output choices include single SPST/SPDT relay rating
at 15 or 30 Amp, 240VAC or multiple relays on Model
2699. Users can select form a wide temperature
control range for cold controls from -40ºF to 50ºF
(-40ºC to 9.5ºC) and hot temperature control ranges
from 90ºF to 250ºF (32.2ºC to 121.1ºC).

Minco: flex circuits available with Omnetics connectors
|
High-reliability flexible circuits from Minco are
now available with rugged, high-density connectors
from Omnetics Connector Corporation. Circuit
conductors under 0.003" and connectors with 0.025"
pitch allow designers to save space and simplify
designs. Engineers can specify a circuit and
connector to be delivered as an assembly to reduce
parts count and overall cost.
Minco
and Omnetics specialize in products for military,
medical, avionics and other critical applications. These connectors meet MIL-PRF-85313 and the flex
circuits meet IPC specifications. Designers can work
with one source and be confident that the design,
construction and testing of the assembly are
optimized for their requirements. Testing,
inspection and delivery times are minimized because
of the cooperation between the two companies.

mamco: New
ultra-low pressure switch
|
A
switch design that combines gold crossbar contacts
with an all-in-one-welded contact terminal
construction that delivers reliability and extended
life in harsh low-pressure environments. The MAM005
line of ultra-low pressure, vacuum, and differential
switches can be ordered preconfigured for immediate
shipment, as a standard product tailored to user
needs, or custom-designed for special applications.
The switches come configured with different port
orientations to fit mounting requirements and come
in nine different diaphragm materials. The devices
can be selected to assure chemical compatibility
with most mediums and reliable operation at
temperature extremes.
